The Irish Society of Cardiological Technology was set up with the purpose promoting the role of Clinical Physiologists and Technicians working in the field of cardiology. The Society will work closely with the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement (IICMS) on common issues such as State Registration and development of the degree programme.

We hope that this site will serve as an educational resource and an arena for promotion of events which would be of interest to those in the field. The website will be regularly updated with all the latest news, events and updates in the field of cardiology.

There are over 200 Cardiac Technicians working in the Republic of Ireland , so there should be plenty of areas for discussion.

If you have an interesting case study, have found an interesting article or if your department has had any achievements, for example has there been a new initiative, has someone got the BSE, please let us know email editor@isct.ie

Also as you know the HSE is undergoing a period of transformation, as is our own profession in terms of the Degree Program, phasing out of the SCST exams in the UK and the initial steps in State Registration. Having a large number of members in this society and in the IICMS will help our profession have a voice in this change. Remember there are over 200 of us out there.
